Sensitive Teeth

Providing Protection from Pain

Damaged Dentin Causes Indecent Exposure

Your teeth are made up of several layers: an incredibly hard, outer 'enamel' layer that allows you to bite and chew, a more porous 'dentin' layer extending from beneath the enamel to below the gumline, and the inner, soft tissue 'pulp' layer containing the tooth's vital nerves, blood vessels, and connective tissues. As you can imagine, damage to either of the outer protective layers allow underlying nerve endings to be exposed to air, hot, cold, and touch… resulting in 'sensitive teeth'. Underlying dentin exposure can happen when enamel becomes chipped, cracked, or broken as a result of age, injury, or clenching and grinding; improper brushing, and receding gums can also expose the dentin.

Easy Does It

It used to be true that once dentin was exposed, we had to tell people the situation wasn't correctible. We would simply treat the symptoms to minimize the sensitivity (soft bristled brushes, special toothpastes, fluoride rinses or gels). But now, with our special Waterlase equipment, we quickly and painlessly seal off those exposed tubules, eliminating the problem and the resulting sensitivity! It's so easy, and yet so revolutionary, that most people don't dream that this kind of cure is available. We'd be glad to show you how effective it is. Just ask!
